Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Putting on God's armour is a command, and even in this we see His grace.

In Ephesians Chapter 6, verse 11, Paul writes to us to “Put on the whole armour of God, It is an imperative command in the Greek and is an act we must do. This verse complements verse 10, which tells us to be empowered (strong) in the Lord. The Lord in verse 10 is more than His name. It is a title of the Lord’s supreme authority. Paul reinforces “strong” with the words “power” and “might.” I love the end of verse 10; it concludes with the personal pronoun “of Him,” showing that it is He (The Lord) who has dominion, strength, and might. We are to put on the armor that Christ freely offers to us. Even in this, we see the Grace of God at work in our lives. In Romans Chapter 5, Paul drives home the substance of grace to all of us believers. Romans Chapter 5:6 reads that Christ died for us who are without strength in His appointed time (See Genesis 22:1-10). In verse 1 of the same chapter, Paul again uses the word “Lord,” as in Ephesians 6:10. He is showing us what Christ has done for us in both Romans and Ephesians.
